Ocean Rowing has became increasingly competitive over the last ten years, as such we
are reluctant to publicise our design and build until near completion only crew and
those directly associated with the expedition will have access to this information
We can however divulge the design remit of BIG BLUE
. 38 ft Catamaran
. 12 crew: 3 sculling in each hull
. Skipper & Engineer at rear of each hull
We have requested the most efficient hull shape
possible, easily rowed at 5 knots with ability to track
well while surfing the trades at 100 NM per day.
With the combination of world class design, an experienced skipper, engineer, coach,
athletic crew and departure carefully timed in relation to weather, BIG BLUE will
achieve historic results.
